Job Title: Investment Vice President, Life Sciences & HealthTech

Salary Range: $300,000/year - $390,000/year

Job Description: Responsible for sourcing opportunities for investment in privately held biotechnology, life sciences tools, diagnostics and digital health in North America. Planning and executing deep scientific and commercial due diligence of new opportunities to determine their attractiveness and risk profile. Financial modelling of opportunities and underwriting investment cases for consideration by the Fund’s Investment Committee. Ongoing management and reporting required for portfolio companies, including taking board director and board observer positions. Additional responsibilities include supporting the broader Group on all medical and life sciences related work streams and strategies. Manage the interests of the Fund as a shareholder along with the fiduciary responsibility of a Board Director on the Boards of Portfolio companies. Must appear in office 3 days per week; WFH permissible 2 days per week.

Requirements: Doctorate degree (MD or PhD) in a medical or bioscience discipline and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a life sciences/health role in the investing or strategy consulting industry or related professional services role.

Experience and/or education must include:

1. Review and summarize complex medical and scientific literature, including clinical trial data, preclinical research and scientific reviews and articles;
2. Utilize biomedical data sources such as BioMedTracker, PharmaProjects, EvaluatePharma, BioCentury to create “landscapes” for different technologies and disease areas;
3. Utilize financial databases and sources such as CapIQ and PitchBook to analyze and model financial performance of portfolio and competitor companies;
4. Conduct due diligence projects including interviews with subject matter experts, consultants and key opinion leaders, desktop research of relevant competitor products and services;
5. Build and maintain detailed financial models for investment opportunities and portfolio companies requiring quarterly valuation updates
