Product Engineer (Multiple Positions), Lam Research Corporation, Fremont, CA. Work on new product introduction and production support engineering for a specific product or group of products. Drive the improvement of the remote factory suppliers’ quality and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost, and on-time delivery. Interface with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems. Develop and sustain process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields. Perform professional product engineering research, design, development, modification, and evaluation in support of improving productivity performance of company’s equipment and systems. Generate and/or direct experimental tasks and verify accuracy of final documentation. Analyze and select components and equipment, as well as evaluate supplier capabilities. Design and conduct independent experiments or tests. Define problems and objective, develop approach, analyze results, and provide recommendations. Prepare and analyze test plans and procedures to assure that technical and operational requirements are met and properly demonstrated.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Salary: $149,240 - $181,000/yr. 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside in California and most states. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, plus five (5) year of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in product engineering. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent, in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in product engineering.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in 3 of the following: Lean Manufacturing Design for Manufacturing Assembly (DMFA); Statistical Process Control (SPC); Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PMFEA); Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; make vs buy analysis; or electro-mechanical manufacturing.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in 2 of the following: Creating graphical build documentation; Root cause and corrective action investigation; Concept & Design fixtures; or nonconforming material disposition.
