TITLE: Quality Engineer

Location: 1333 Broadway, Suite 800, Oakland, CA 94612; Must live within reasonable commuting distance from Oakland, CA office and able to appear in office as required.

Salary: $112,299/yr - $140,008.00/yr

Job Description: The Quality Engineer will collaborate with business and technical team members to ensure the usability and functionality of products, services, and systems. Work to deliver quality standards using the team's testing systems to ensure efficiency, reliability, and performance. Contribute to the organization’s overall strategic plan to maintain and improve production quality.  Design and develop clear, concise, comprehensive test plans and test cases for web applications and web service applications. Design and develop test automation solutions using Selenium, Postman, SoapUI and other tools determined to best suit our needs. Experience with test management and reporting tools, such as Quality Center, Zephyr. Participate in all phases of the Agile development process and analyze current QA practices and help build automated test suites (functionality, regression, smoke, sanity, etc.). Work with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Team to help refine the QA vision and strategy. Apply QA best practices to actively look for process improvement opportunities. Implement new testing frameworks for future products and features. Write, revise, and own the QA test plan for our UI, web services and participate in peer review of test cases, test code, test plans and defects. Prepare daily, and weekly test execution reports along with highlighting the risks/roadblocks with mitigation plans and prepare monthly Quality Assurance Metrics.  Perform Cross Browser and parallel testing for the web based by using Selenium WebDriver, TestNG and Experience working with the Cloud bees, Jenkins. Must live within reasonable commuting distance from Oakland, CA office and able to appear in office as required.

Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in software testing or in the job offered or related role.

Experience and/or education must include:

1. Testing the enterprise web applications built using the advanced Java or JavaScript frameworks;
2. Selenium web driver, page object model and other automation frameworks such as protractor or other keyword driven automation frameworks;
3. Working with sauce labs or browser stack to test on different browsers;
4. Perform Cross Browser and parallel testing for the web based by using Selenium WebDriver, TestNG and experience working with the Cloud bees, Jenkins;
5. Scrum, Agile Process and version control systems like enterprise GIT, JIRA, Knowledge of HTTP/S Protocols, Proficient in testing of Restful Web service, JSON based request response;
6. Test case writing tools such as Zephyr, Test rail, Microsoft test manager or mercury Quality center; and
7. Defect creating and tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla or mercury Quality center.
